Types of glass walls

The interior with the use of transparent partitions has become one of the latest fashion trends. A glass wall can be:

Internal. This version of the partition is installed inside the apartment and is intended for decorating a room or zoning it. Mostly, they can be found in modern, loft, minimalism, country, or high-tech styles. Thanks to the partition, more light enters the room, and space becomes visually wider.

External. This partition is used on the veranda or in the living room. Usually, an outer transparent wall opens up beautiful landscapes (sea, mountains) or overlooks the backyard of a country house. Its task is to fill the room with light and create a sense of unity with nature, which allows you to enjoy the picturesque view.

The glass wall is conventionally divided into stationary and mobile (sliding, portable). Stationary – is a structure that has a rigid mount and can replace a full-fledged interior wall. They will be ideal for an apartment with little natural light. In the office, this option allows you to delimit the workplaces of employees, and at the same time not violate the integrity of the space.

Mobile or sliding structures are suitable for studio apartments. Here they serve as a separator between different zones. For example, they will separate the living room from the kitchen or bedroom. Mobile structures are:

  • Sliding. Their disadvantage is minimal sound insulation.
  • Foldable. They differ in the point of fixing the canvases.
  • Swing.
  • Radial.

In appearance, glass structures are:

  • Transparent. They look light and weightless. The presence of a canvas here is indicated only by the frames around it.
  • Tinted. Used to create a cozy atmosphere in adjoining rooms and to protect from the bright sun. Such partitions are more fitting for rooms facing south.
  • Matt. Partitions help hide the room from prying eyes since through them you can only see silhouettes. The throughput of such glass is 15-60%. It will suit any style, from rustic to modern.

  • Colored. Partitions of different shades are suitable for zoning rooms. Bright hues can be chosen for a teen’s room or public space. In the bedroom, it is better to give preference to soft and delicate tones. The colored glass will look good in high-tech, modern styles.
  • Corrugated. The thickness of such glass is greater due to the volumetric texture. Light rays are refracted as they pass through the embossed elements, which makes the contours of objects blurry.
  • With sandblasted drawings. Outwardly, they look like patterns that frost leaves on the window, which looks unusual. This wall will become the highlight of the house. Due to its originality and airiness, such a wall is used when arranging an apartment in a classic style.
  • Stained glass. Such partitions look exquisite, turning an ordinary apartment into a real palace.
  • From glass blocks. The construction of the cubes is strong and durable

Kitchen glass wall

Combining a kitchen with a living room is very popular today. But, some do not dare to do this, as they are sure that aromas from the kitchen will penetrate all corners of the house. Installing a sealed glass structure equipped with a closing door will help to solve this problem. Thus, the kitchen and adjoining room will become visually wider, and odors will not spread throughout the apartment.

Bedroom glass wall

Owners of one-room apartments or studio apartments do not always know how to allocate a recreation area. To create a cozy secluded corner, just put a glass partition. If it is necessary to provide this area with greater privacy, it is recommended to use tinted or frosted glass, hang blinds or curtains.
